So what is downloadable music, anyway?
There is an incredible amount of music available on the Internet for you to "download," just like you would do with a file sent to you over e-mail. Many audio files can be downloaded by a click of the mouse; others are slightly more involved. There are a wide variety of formats used to play the music, but downloadable music is any music you can get from the Internet, put on your computer, and play at will.
TIP: On MTV.com, look for the download icon ( ) next to any download link.
How do I download MP3s/WMAs from your site?
You download MP3s and WMAs the same way you download any file from the Internet--point and click with your mouse.
How long should it take to download a song?
Size does matter--at least with modems. If you've got a 28.8kbps modem it will take you roughly 15-20 minutes to download a 3 minute song. A 56.6kbps modem cuts the download time to 7 or 8 minutes, and high-speed Internet connections like DSL or T1 lines are super-fast, taking no more than a minute or two to download a tune.
I’ve downloaded the music file, but now I can’t find it…
Use your computer’s Find File command to search for all the files with “.mp3” in their names. If you can't locate it that way, download the file again and take note of the directory in which the file is saved.
