The chemistry between Erik and Angel was immediate and undeniable. But when Angel caught Erik getting a little too flirty with their waiter on their anniversary, he walked out on him right then and there. Now Erik's dating Eddie and Angel's with Sean. A weekend at Casa Bella will test these fragile new relationships.
Erik and Angel are clearly shocked and a little uncomfortable when Natalia explains the situation. Eddie and Sean are even more uncomfortable when they watch their significant others embrace each other on their TV. Erik and Angel chat about their new relationships and each say they're happy for the other -- yet somehow, it's not terribly convincing.
Over dinner, Angel surprises Erik by bringing up their past, admitting he often thinks about the night they broke up. He doesn't go as far as saying he regrets ending their relationship, but Angel does confess that he misses Erik and their relationship.
Meanwhile, at the "O" bungalow, Eddie and Sean jump at the opportunity to do some more spying by ordering Angel and Erik one of their favorite movies and setting off a spy camera in the DVD player. The boys are stunned to see Angel and Erik snuggled up under the covers. The innocent cuddling quickly escalates to hand-holding and kissing until Erik and Angel decide they no longer need the movie as entertainment and shut off the DVD player. Although their hidden camera has been turned off, the touch lamp continues to glow, reminding Eddie and Sean just what their boyfriends are up to.
The next morning, Eddie and Sean are given the choice of sending Erik and Angel to a spicy salsa dancing class and spying or sending them to play darts and not be able to see anything. Sean really wants to see what's going on so Eddie agrees to the salsa dancing. They come to regret the decision when they have to watch the instructor repeatedly tell Erik and Angel to "sex up" their movements and look at each other "with love".
At the end of their lesson, the boys get their "complimentary upgrade". When Eddie and Sean see the layout of the room on their new channel, Sean is immediately concerned about the two person shower. Sure enough, Erik and Angel waste little time hopping into the shower and setting off the touch lamp. Wonder what they could be up to!
Eddie and Sean choose to focus on the name counter instead of what their boyfriends are up to in that shower. Both are disappointed at how little they've been mentioned all weekend. Nine and thirteen are not the kind of numbers you want to see!
While Erik and Angel are at dinner, Eddie and Sean get a note informing them that they can spy on the date for five and only five minutes. They miss Erik commenting on the one bed he'll be sharing with Angel that night, but tune in in time to catch them kissing. Sean is very disturbed at first, but is somewhat pleased when they see Angel and Erik fight because Erik is again flirting with the waiter. Does this guy ever learn his lesson?
Instead of making nice, Erik continues to flirt with the waiter and make fun of Angel for being messy. Fed up with how little Erik's changed, Angel makes the déjà vu situation complete by getting up from the table and leaving. Too bad Sean and Eddie already used up their five minutes and missed that fight!
When they see that there's only one person in the bedroom who appears to be going straight to sleep, Sean and Eddie are convinced there's no more threat of Erik and Angel hooking up and go to sleep themselves. This may have been premature though, as Erik returns to apologize and "make up" with Angel. Sean and Eddie have are in for a very unpleasant surprise when they wake up to see that touch lamp glowing again!
Now that the vacation's over, it's time for some big decisions and bigger confrontations. Sean worries about meeting with Erik because he's not sure if he'll start screaming or just burst into tears. He manages to keep it together and informs Erik he's got to make a choice between his "X" and his "O". The tension runs a little higher when Eddie meets Angel on the docks, as Angel refuses to apologize for taking advantage of the "opportunity of a lifetime". Eddie decides all the drama isn't for him and tells Angel to make his choice.
Erik meets with Eddie to tell him he's chosen Angel because Angel offers him something "special". Erik's nervous that Angel won't accept him for who he is, but he's willing to take that chance. But will it pay off?
Angel says that, even though he had to think about it a lot, the choice was obvious. He wants a fresh start with Erik. What a great way to end the second season of The X Effect!
