The X Effect › Season 1 › Ep. 107

Evi and J'Serie were in love and had a relationship that lasted over one year. Things began to go sour for them when Evi realized that J'Serie was purposely making himself emotionally unavailable. However even after their split Evi openly admits that she has not gotten over J'Serie. Now J'Serie is in a new relationship with Shawna while Evi is currently dating Kevin. For the first time since the breakup, the two couples have agreed to spend time together as they plan to head away on a weekend trip.

When both couples arrive at the Canyon Vista Resort their host tells them that only the ex's are allowed to stay, and that Shawna and Kevin must turn around and go home. The new significant others are ushered into a limo and taken away while J'Serie and Evi are escorted to the room they will be staying in for the remainder of the weekend.

Shortly after, Kevin and Shawna learn that they are not heading home as their limo pulls up to the Canyon Vista Resort for the second time. When they are shown their room, their escort tells them they will have several chances throughout the course of the weekend to spy on their current significant others.

That evening J'Serie and Evi head to a bistro within the resort for a chance to get some dinner and to catch up. While the ex's wait for the meal the each admit that they miss the other before showing that have also held on to tokens of affection from the time when they were dating. When Evi asks J'Serie about his relationship with Shawna, J'Serie tells her that he has a love for Shawna, but is still in love with her.

Meanwhile things are getting heated between Shawna and Kevin in the hotel room when they are allowed to watch their significant other's dinner date. Kevin is quick to point out J'Serie's flaws and Shawna becomes defensive.

The next morning Shawna and Kevin are given the option of sending J'Serie and Evi on one of two afternoon dates. The first is a romantic trip to a local vineyard to go wine tasting; the other is to play a game of croquet. The catch is if they send J'Serie and Evi wine tasting, they will be allowed to spy, if they send them to croquet, they will be left in the dark. It takes no time Shawna and Kevin to decide to send them to the wine tasting so they can spy.

Over at the wine tasting it doesn't take very long for the flirting to start. After a couple of glasses they are lead to a large half barrel where they are told they will stomp their own grapes. The grape stomping soon transforms into flirt-fighting as the ex's playfully begin to toss handfuls of gooey grapes at each other. The flirting comes to a head when J'Serie goes out of his way to give Evi two solid smacks her on her behind.

When J'Serie and Evi head back to their room they find a note informing them that due to unscheduled maintenance they have been upgraded to a honeymoon suite. When they arrive at the honeymoon suite J'Serie is very happy to discover that there is only one bed to in the entire suite. Evi hits the shower to wash some of the grapes off of her, and J'Serie is quick to follow her in, eventually shedding all of his clothes.

That night Kevin and Shawna send a bottle of wine to Evi and J'Serie while they're at dinner so they can spy on them. The microphone on the wine turns on right as a game of Truth or Dare starts up, and J'Serie asks Evi what he would have to do to win her back. Evi doesn't beat around the bush and tells him that he would have to be more open about his feelings. When she asks him why she should be with him instead of Kevin, J'Serie tells her that he's got a whole hand full of nothing and that he needs to get a whole handful of something. J'Serie's line works almost instantly on Evi and soon the ex's have locked lips several times over.

The following morning J'Serie and Evi are confronted by their ex's current partner. They are each told they will need to make a decision, and given two tiles; one representing their current partner and one representing their ex.

When J'Serie meets up with Shawna for the first times since he left her at the beginning of the weekend he tries smiling, but she tells him not to smile at her. She scolds J'Serie saying that he humiliated her and that he hurt her feelings horribly.

Kevin is a little friendlier to Evi when he meets her for the first time since the weekend started. Evi apologizes for her actions, and tries to explain to him about the history she has with J'Serie. When Evi holds up her tile to reveal an X, Kevin calls her a slut and waves goodbye as she walks away.

Evi meets with J'Serie for the final time during the weekend to see what the future holds for them. Evi tells J'Serie that she feels as thought there time together over the weekend was very special and that she has chosen to be with him. J'Serie, however is singing a different tune from the other night when he tells Evi that he has made his choice based on his feelings for Shawna. He tells Evi that he still loves Shawna and that he is moving on from his relationship with her so that he can pursue a new relationship with Shawna. Feeling foolish for trusting J'Serie, Evi turns around heads out of the resort.
