About Episode

  1. Mexico has a long tradition of songs and ballads celebrating drug dealers as romantic heroes, but now it makes cheapie home videos doing the same. They're shot in 2 weeks, scenes are done in just one take and they're some of our favorite movies - until you realize that they're driven by America's epic drug demand - ("The Vice Guide To Narco Cinema"). What happens when a Paki and a Mexican visit a town in South Africa that still hasn't accepted that Apartheid has ended? We sent the other Vice founder, Suroosh Alvi, and our cameraman, Bernardo, to find out in ("The Vice Guide To Apartheid Town"). In Bogota, the government's aim at sweeping away the homeless underclass has driven a society of people to live in the sewers beneath the city. Thomas Morton goes to live with them for a few days in ("The Vice Guide To The Sewers of Bogota"). In Korea, pop music rules. It's called K-Pop, and kids are often plucked from grade school for their one-in-a-million shot at finding stardom. We go inside the machine to see how they're made in ("The Vice Guide To Korean Boy Bands").
