About Episode

  1. What if you threw a wedding and nobody came? In this episode of True Life, you're invited to meet two couples who actually planned it just this way. As the economy worsens, more and more young people are foregoing traditional celebrations and eloping -- exchanging vows in private, less-costly ceremonies, unbeknownst to even their closest family and friends.

Christina and Matt met each other just three weeks before getting engaged. Afraid that loved ones will try to talk them out of tying the knot too quickly -- they've decided to keep their plans to themselves. But does Christina really know the man she's marrying -- and is Matt ready to be a parent to Christina's child from a previous relationship?

Money problems are forcing Brad and Joy to rethink the idea of a big wedding, so they've decided to downsize and get married in private with only their young daughter present. But is it worth the stress to keep their wedding under wraps if their friends and family never forgive them for their subterfuge?

They're keeping the biggest decision of their lives a secret. Will second thoughts derail these speedy trips to the altar? Find out next on True Life: I'm Eloping.
