Millions of young Americans are turning to illegally obtained prescription narcotics as their drugs of choice under the assumption that they are safer than street drugs. In this episode of True Life two young adults share their struggles as they try to battle their deadly addiction to prescription drugs.

Evan is a 20-yeard-old audio engineering student from Northern California. He experimented with drinking and drug usage throughout his teenage years until he tried Oxycontin, where he experienced euphoria unmatched by other drugs. From that day on he consistently used Oxycontin as his drug of choice. He has stayed in treatment centers and even been prescribed drugs to help control his addiction but is haunted by the feeling of escape and comfort that the drug brings him.

His determination to stay clean is put to the ultimate test when his former girlfriend, also an Oxycontin user, visits. His addiction infiltrates all aspects of his life as he struggles to regain power over the addiction. It leaves him searching for answers as he looses control of his finances and strains his relationship with his friends.

Dana is another 20-year-old who has fallen victim to the whirlwind of prescription drug addiction. As a child in New Jersey, she began using drugs at the age of twelve and by the age of 17 had begun her journey with her drug of choice, roxicodone. In and out of rehab 15 times, she is unable to attend school or hold a job. She turns to cleaning to take her mind away from using for as many minutes as she can. Her parents sent her to Florida to live in a halfway house for treatment but she struggles to stay there, a place where using is not permitted. Follow her journey as she betrays family members and ultimately herself as she tries to escape her addiction.
