About Episode

  1. Everybody gets angry now and then. But some people have such trouble controlling this natural emotion that it can destroy their relationships with family and friends. On this episode of True Life, you'll meet three young people about to lose everything they love because they can't control their rage.

Johnny blames his anger on a bad childhood with a dad who also had rage problems. Now twenty-three, Johnny no longer fears his father but his own anger problems have taken a toll on his every day life. No longer able to control his outbursts at work, John gets fired from the personal training job he's so good at. After fracturing his hand in rage, Johnny's mother urges him to get professional help. Unfortunately, Johnny thinks he can handle his anger on his own and even likes the way he is.

Anna grew up in a tough neighborhood that taught her to fight whenever she felt disrespected. Her boyfriend Jesse hates this side of her and constantly threatens to end their relationship if she doesn't change her attitude. Finally realizing what a problem it is, Anna enters into therapy to learn better ways to cope when she's angry.

Madison has been angry at her mom ever since she was kicked out at age fourteen. At twenty-one, Madison has let that anger boil over to everyone in her life. Knowing that she's isolated herself from her family and friends, Madison starts anger management therapy in hopes to get her rage in check and reconnect with her estranged family. She feels better prepared to handle herself when she goes to visit them, but can Madison manage to keep her anger under control when faced with the past?
