What's it like to be an outcast in your own family? On this episode of True Life you'll meet three young people who are expressing their individuality, which is causing them to be anything but the pride of their pack.
Courtney is a high school senior who dreams of making the Varsity cheerleading squad. Unfortunately, she's an outcast in her family as the one normal kid. Her sister is the Queen of Different, her brother is a skater, and her Mom is obsessed with Nirvana. They always make fun of Courtney for being pretty and popular, but when she misses her shot at Varsity, she'll need their support more than ever.
Shawn is a high school student who'd rather focus on his music career than academics. This doesn't sit well with his traditional Indian parents, who just want him to get into a good college. When Shawn blows off studying for the SATs to go to a disappointing gig, he realizes that his parents might actually know best on this matter.
Lisa is a twenty-one year old party girl who aspires to model for men's magazines and then become an independently rich socialite. Her conservative parents and hard-working sister have quickly become tired with this act, wanting her to settle down and get a real job. Will Lisa continue to clash with them or realize that at some point, she needs to grow up?
