Tiara Girls › Ep. 108

Sabra is a teen pageant queen with a dream of becoming Miss America. Now she is going after her most elusive goal to date, the Miss Universe Royalty competition.

Competing since the age of 3, Sabra has not lost a pageant since she was 9 years old. Her mother is her pageant coach, dressmaker and hair and makeup artist. She has to be both driven and precise -- Mom is a hard woman to please and her daughter's harshest critic.

It takes practice to appear flawless, with attention paid to acting, answering questions and perfecting dance moves. And don't forget the evening gown fittings and waking early to prep hair and makeup for a photo shoot! Sabra has a lot to do in a limited amount of time.

During rehearsal, Sabra's mother prods her about no making a proper shoulder turn, about not looking at each individual judge long enough, about... everything. It's hard and she would rather be hanging out with her friends, but her passion for winning and achieving her goals remains strong.

With only a couple of days until the pageant, Sabra is not confident about her dance moves. Her mom worries that the judges will expect Sabra's usual routine and penalize her if she doesn't dance.

When the big morning arrives, Sabra gets up incredibly early to travel to the hotel where the pageant is held. Her hair and makeup done, her dress gleams in the cool fluorescent lighting of the dressing room before it the competition begins. Then it's time to go and she makes her way onto the stage to put her practice to the test.

Sabra breezes through the pageant's opening dress showing with the easy grace of someone who has done it before. In the audience, her mother worries when her daughter falters slightly in the question and answer session, but all goes well in the acting segment where Sabra performs a "Cinderella" parody.

Given the option, Sabra decides to skip her dance routine. Worried that it'll hurt her daughter's chances for the crown, Mom pushes her to perform, but nerves get the best of Sabra and she turns in a weak performance.

Disappointed and sure she's about to chalk up her first loss in years, she steps onto the stage to face the results... only to be crowned the winner! Adding another tiara to her collection, Sabra takes one step closer to her ultimate goal.
