And now, the Pentagon has taken another step towards inclusivity by announcing that they have lifted the ban on openly trans people serving. There are a few restrictions still even with the policy change, and how the rule goes in to effect will be another test for how the top brass handles social issues.
After Britain voted to leave the EU, people were scrambling to understand what it would mean for the country, and the world. Some who voted in favor of leaving the EU also said that given a second chance, they would vote the other way. While another chance at voting seems unlikely, there is still a possibility that Brexit may not happen at all - or at least not for a while.6/30/16
House Democrats staged a sit-in on the floor of the House in an effort to force a vote concerning gun control - knowing full well that even if they got a vote, they were outnumbered by Republicans. In fact, that may have been part of the reason for the sit-in in the first place. Could this all be part of a larger strategy to galvanize voters in November and deliver control of Congress to Democrats for the first time since January 3rd, 2009?
