Taquita & Kaui › Ep. 103

After successful stints at the Rick Thomas Magic show and Legends in Concert Taquita & Kaui are looking for their next gig. We meet up with the girls in their cozy room at the Happi Inn, enjoying a pizza. Kaui thinks they should practice their acting skills so she sets up a scene for Taquita. Kaui tells her to pretend like she just found a golden ticket while eating the pizza. Taquita then proceeds to remove the toppings from a slice of pizza, place a scrap of paper on the slice, and then put the toppings back on. Taquita then begins to eat the slice of pizza but only to stumble upon the golden ticket; end scene! Now it's Kaui's turn. Taquita tells her to act like she just put on the mask from the movie The Mask. Kaui gets up to do her scene but then stops to get a drink of water to wash down the pizza she's been eating. This makes Taquita mad, actors don't have time to stop and take a drink of water! After quenching her thirst Kaui then slowly puts on an invisible mask and then freaks out, screaming and flailing around. Taquita and Kaui are both thoroughly amused which was really the point in the first place.

Taquita and Kaui meet up with their manager Ricky in the morning. Ricky's got another job for the girls and this time it's acting at an Old Nevada entertainment and amusement park. Ricky asks the girls if they can act, and, after a short pause, Taquita and Kaui both nod in agreement. Transportation is a problem for the girls as they don't have a car. Ricky tells them not to worry as he'll have a friend bring a car by for them to use.

Later, Taquita and Kaui are already outside of their room awaiting the car. A bright yellow Corvette pulls up and the girls instantly know that it's there for them. Kaui gets behind the wheel and they take off for a night of joy riding.

The next day Taquita and Kaui head to the country to see what they'll be doing at the Old Nevada amusement park. When they pull up to the park the girls meet Bill, Bill explains that what Old Nevada does most is put on plays and gunfights. Taquita and Kaui act like they are excited but it's clear that they are already a little irritated with Ricky for setting this up. Bill takes them inside and sits them down to watch one of the short plays. The plays aren't really plays at all but more like skits, and corny skits at that. After watching the skits for a while Taquita and Kaui are shown the backstage area and told to pick out the costumes they are going to wear. While they are trying them on Kaui spots a dead rat in the corner of the room. Another freak out session ensues and the girls high-tail it out of there. Bill stops them on the way out to hand them a script and reminds Taquita and Kaui that they need to have it all memorized by tomorrow for their performance. The girls say it's no problem as they hop in the car and speed off.

Back at the Happi Inn the girls try and go over their lines but it's too boring. They even enlist Rita to help them but Rita can't stay interested either. Taquita and Kaui give up eventually and decide to hit the town instead.

It is show time at the Old Nevada saloon and Taquita and Kaui still don't have their lines memorized. Backstage and in full costume the girls don't really know what to do. Kaui thinks she hears her cue and walks on stage. She starts to recite the lines that she knows, mostly just her first line, but the other actor on stage stops her. It's not Kaui's time yet and she is quickly shooed off stage where Taquita is cracking up. When the girls' time to take the stage actually comes it's a disaster. Some of their lines get said, but there's a lot of improv, and laughing, and awkward dancing happening instead. Taquita and Kaui decide to just have a good time and do whatever, they still have their show the next day to get things right.

The next morning Kaui finally lets Taquita drive the Vette out to Old Nevada, but when they get to the parking lot Taquita is driving way too fast and when she hits the breaks the car skids out on the gravel and comes to a stop in the side of a building. Taquita and Kaui are scared but not hurt. They get out to take a look at the front of the car and it looks ok, except for whatever is hanging off of the bumper. Kaui backs the car up away from the building, the car still drives but something is dragging. A quick look under the car shows that something big and plastic is dragging and also something is leaking. The girls call a tow truck and head back to the Happi Inn. They have no idea what they are going to tell Ricky.

Back in their room Kaui doesn't want to talk to Taquita at all. Taquita feels really bad about crashing the car but wants to talk to her best friend about it. Kaui is surprised that Taquita doesn't know her well enough yet to know that she just wants to be left alone when she's upset. The girls always seem to get along so great but now they can say they've officially had a big fight.

Will Taquita and Kaui be able to bounce back from their first fight and stay best friends? Will Ricky forgive the girls for crashing the corvette? Tune into MTV Monday at 10:30pm to see what Taquita and Kaui will get into next!
