The students at SCPA look to the future as Mia heads to New York to meet with Jive Records, Jasmine heads to Miami to audition for the Alvin Ailey Fordham B.F.A. program and Malik and Tyler are given the opportunity to try out for the hip-hop Bloc Agency. Although Malik is cut from the auditions and Jive ultimately decides Mia's too young to sign just yet, both come out of the experience stronger. Jasmine is accepted to the Alvin Ailey dance school, but not the accompanying B.F.A. program at Fordham. Although her parents want her to get a degree, Jasmine begins to think following her dream to New York and Alvin Ailey is the way to go. The Bloc Scouts offer to sign Tyler, but only if he drops out of SCPA to move to Los Angeles or New York. Ultimately, Tyler decides to stay and finish school. Meanwhile, with Jasmine and Tyler officially over, Mia and Tyler decide to explore their growing relationship and have their first official date.
