The Veteran boys follow through on their plans to throw a mission and force one of the most exciting elimination rounds in RW/RR Challenge history.
Fearing that their girls are weighing them down, the Veteran guys secretly agree that the time has come to actively start getting rid of some of their teammates. Taking advantage of the confusion during the "Assembly Required" challenge, the men purposely mess up, handing the Rookies their second win and landing the Veteran girls in The Gauntlet.
Since the Rookies are safe from the impending female Gauntlet, they must choose one Veteran to save and one to send into The Gauntlet. During their deliberation, the Rookies choose to save scaredy-cat Casey but are torn over who to send into The Gauntlet. They leave it up to a coin toss, which lands on Coral. Furious at her teammates for deciding her fate with the flip of a coin, Coral demands that she does not face-off against her longtime rival, Beth. But when the Veterans deliberate, they decide to send Beth in against Coral's wishes.
And so it is ... challenge "queens" Coral and Beth step into The Gauntlet to compete in "Ball Brawl." After a grueling battle tackling each other in the sand, Coral prevails, sending Beth packing.
During the next challenge, "Walk the Plank," the Veterans and the Rookies must get their players across a small plank without getting knocked off by large balls being hurled at them by their opponents. It's going to be followed by a male Gauntlet, so the Veteran guys give it their all and easily beat the Rookies.
Safe from elimination, the Veterans decide to protect MJ and send Derek, the team's strongest player, into The Gauntlet. Facing a tough choice, the Rookies decide to send in Ryan, who feels betrayed by having to face-off against his good friend and much stronger teammate.
Fortunately for Ryan, The Gauntlet challenge is the brain-game "Sliders." With a little help from Veteran Evelyn, Ryan is able to complete his puzzle first and defeat the Rookie's strongman. Derek's sweetheart Paula and the rest of the Rookies give him a tearful farewell and face the fact that the team has lost yet another player.
