With anticipation and anxiety at an all-time high in South Africa on Real World/Road Rules Challenge: Inferno 3, the Bad Asses and Good Guys take some time to chill and prepare for the challenge ahead. The only one not relaxing is Bad Ass Derrick, who packs his belongings in case he is sent to the final male Inferno and loses. And Derrick's no stranger to losing -- he was tossed out of Fresh Meat and The Gauntlet right before the final challenge. Now it's Derrick's chance to step it up and prove his worth to the other Bad Asses.
Recently, the Bad Asses have been wiping the floor with the Good Guys, so the team is confident that the next challenge will be a breeze. After receiving a text message, the teams are clued into what may be taking place during their next ?reely? fun challenge: fishing!
The following day, the Bad Asses and Good Guys meet up with host T.J. Lavin for "Hook Me," where each team will go "fishing" for the opposing team?s girls. Hooked to a fishing pole attached to a boat, the girls will swim as far away as possible from the boat while the guys try to reel them in. The fishing lines are capable of reeling in 200-pound tuna, so reeling in the girls should be a piece of cake, right?
The team with the fastest average time will receive $10,000. Plus, the fastest guy from each team will receive a Life Shield, so Derrick and Davis will definitely be gunning for those. But wait, there?s more! The fastest guy to reel his girl in and the girl that lasts the longest without getting reeled in will win 20-inch custom rims! Now let's get hooked!
Good Guy Ace chooses Aneesa to head into the water first, while Bad Ass Kenny chooses Susie. As the horn blows, the ladies begin swimming as hard and fast as they can. Overconfident and raring to go, Kenny and Ace quickly realize this challenge is much harder than they thought. Reeling in girls isn?t so easy!
After putting up a little bit of a fight, Aneesa gives up and let's Ace reel her in, letting the Good Guys win the round. Next, Bad Ass Abe chooses Paula, and Good Guy Alton chooses Ev. As always, Alton starts off strong but soon loses steam and Abe wins the round. Then it's Good Guy Davis vs. Tonya and Bad Ass Derrick vs. Cara. All bets are placed on Derrick reeling in his girl first but Davis really flexes his muscles and easily wins the challenge, proving he?s one strong competitor! In the final round, Good Guy John reels in Janelle effortlessly.
Once the Bad Asses and Good Guys complete the challenge, T.J. announces that the Bad Asses have once again won 10K! They now have $80,000 in their account while the Good Guys only have $60,000. John and Ev win the custom rims with their speedy times. But who won the Life Shields? Looks like it's Kenny and John, and -- surprise, surprise -- neither one of them wants to replace their teammate in The Inferno.
It?s time for Derrick and Davis to battle it out in the final male Inferno! The challenge is called "Corner Ball," in which Derrick and Davis will both start in their own corner. When T.J. says go, they will dash down the nine-foot wall, grab a rugby ball and continue into the opposing corner. Whichever player successfully enters the other player?s corner three times wins while the loser is sent home. Let?s get ready to rugby!
Realizing the stakes are high, Derrick brings his A-game and plows around the wall like a pro and rams through Davis. With one point under his belt, Derrick?s taking no prisoners. He successfully shoves through Davis two more times and easily wins the final male Inferno. Derrick's curse is broken and the Bad Asses succeed once again! Meanwhile, Davis' loss is bittersweet, and the Good Guys realize more than ever that it's anyone's game and they all must work together if they want to be victorious in the end.
