Saul and Melinda grab all the info on Brooke's Outward Bound experience.
It's the roommates' final week at Outward Bound and the new teens from Katrina are headed into the wilderness. The Real World welcome wagon meets and greets the girls and prepares them for the trip ahead, which includes a trip to Turtle Rock, climbing techniques, rappelling and more.
Given her previous (non)performance when faced with the rappel, Brooke is understandably put off by the prospect of scaling backwards down a cliff. Although she wants to set a positive example for the girls and prove herself to Chris, she's still feeling uncomfortable when it comes to testing her fear of heights. But, Jenn is quick to step in with a pep talk, telling her roomie that the fear is all in her head. Brooke may be adamant against the rappel, but Jenn pushes her to at least give it a fair shot.
Watching the girls lean back and down the mountain, Brooke starts feeling inspired. Chris gets her locked and loaded, but as she tries to step back, she turns on the tears in frustration. Cheered on by the crowd and a supportive Jenn, Brooke musters up the strength to push through and make it through the rappel. Thrilled with her descent, Brooke is beaming, and so are her proud roommates.
On day three, Colie comes down with a sickness and needs to head back to Denver. She waves goodbye, disappointed that she's missing out on the last leg of the trip.
Stephen and Brooke then guide the girls on their leg of the course, heading to high camp. But, as they make their way up, the group is forced to slow down for a lightning storm. Although Brooke is having an internal freak out, she knows she has to stay brave for the girls, who get a quick crash course on lightning safety from Chris.
As though the Outward Bound interns didn't have enough on their hands, Camper Ashley starts struggling with her breathing. Realizing she needs some medical attention, Chris cuts her pack open, straps her on his back, and starts running down the mountain with her. With their supervisor gone, it's up to Brooke and Stephen to take charge of the troops.
When the group arrives back safely, Brooke tells Chris that she never would have imagined stepping up and leading a group through the storm. As they make the final hike to the mountain peak, the group hits their major accomplishment and takes in the view.
After the campers pack up and head home, the Denver roommates have a pow wow about their Outward Bound experience. In tears, Brooke tells the group that although she once thought the program was a complete joke, it's changed her life and helped her to stop living in fear. Chris tells his interns that they've exceeded all of his expectations, and tells them that they have a vacation in their future because of all of their hard work.
