The Real Worlders are about to embark on their first Outward Bound session with the Hurricane Katrina victims, but some major drama is brewing between the roommates.
Stephen heads to the airport to drop off his friend Darnell, while the other roomies start their meeting with Outward Bound boss-man Chris. Chris begins the meeting by asking if anyone has concerns. Tyrie confesses to his arrest, and tells everyone that he wants to leave the Denver house for good. The group takes a break, and Chris and Tyrie have a talk about quitting. Chris provides Tyrie with a better perspective, so he decides to stick it out and turn himself around.
By the time everyone regroups, Stephen has arrived and Chris starts off the meeting with a lesson on conflict resolution. The attention immediately shifts to Stephen, and he, in return, shifts the blame to Colie -- saying that she tends to throw a bitchy attitude his way. This makes Colie pretty uncomfortable, but she lets it slide and offers to go pick up the Katrina boys at the airport with Stephen.
The rest of the roommates head to the campsite to set up, but unfortunately head in the completely wrong direction! They finally show up three and a half hours late to an angry Chris, but they all pull it together and set up the site in the knick of time. When the boys arrive, the roommates take some time to get acquainted with the junior Outward Bounders. They also give them the rundown of the next day's schedule.
The next morning, Tyrie, Stephen and Colie lead the kids on a hike over to the rock climbing course. After everyone makes it up the mountain safely, Stephen tells them that he has to leave early to catch a plane to his sister's wedding. Both the roomies and kids are put off by the way Stephen exits. They feel he doesn't care, and this is proven in his private confessional when he explains, "I'm glad I'm going home, and I'm going to see people I actually care about."
