Isaac is missing. He's gone, vanished into thin air. The Real World house is in total shock. Where has he gone? Is he still alive? The Real Worlder's want answers, worried about their friend.
Apparently, Isaac used to do a type of drug that now causes him to hallucinate. Right in front of his very eyes, birds appear in all different shapes and sizes. Even though Isaac is now clean, he still sees one particular bird on very rare occasions. He's come to learn that when a black bird pops into his line of vision, someone he knows has died. Isaac had recently seen that same bird.
Let's rewind to two days before, shall we? Ashli, the newbie in the house, has begun to mingle and set her sights on Dunbar to 'innocently' flirt. Ashli admits that she loves to go boy crazy, focusing on one particular guy to trying and wrap him around her finger. With Dunbar, having a girlfriend it's more of a challenge.
While Dunbar and Ashli get to know each other, KellyAnne and Parisa chat outside. They can see the sparks budding between Ashli and Dunbar. But, banking on Dunbar's love for his girlfriend, Julie, the two girls rest assured that no drama will come of this. But, what if Dunbar cheated on his girl? No way that Ashli would do such a thing, right?
Back to business at Contiki, the Real World crew is given an assignment. But, unlike the tasks before, they will be split apart from each other, going head to head in competition. And if it's competitive, there must be a prize, right? How about an all expenses paid European discovery trip? Sounds good to them!
The teams are chosen: team one consisting of Trisha, Isaac and Parisa; and team two with KellyAnne, Cohutta, Dunbar and Ashli. Obviously, Trisha and Parisa on the same team is an iffy subject. With everyone doubting their ability to work together, the ladies agree to set their differences aside and get to work.
That night, the house has its first run-in with a withdrawn Isaac. He's off by himself, barely talking with his roommates. After seeing a blackbird that day, he finds out that his grandfather has passed away. Isaac can only express his feelings of grief with Noirin, the person he feels closest to in Australia.
Back in the house, Dunbar chats with his girlfriend, who is sad that he is so far away. Dunbar finally calms her down, telling her that he counts down the days until he sees her again.
Hanging up the phone, Dunbar retreats to the kitchen where Ashli is quietly writing. She looks up at Dunbar, asking all sorts of questions about his girlfriend. She thinks it's a total waste of a roommate when he is so handsome and so taken.
That night at a bar, a tall blonde is pressing Dunbar up against a wall. She tempts him, whispering in his ear and sliding against him. He puts his hands in his pockets, constantly remembering his girl back home. But, Ashli, loving a challenge, goes in for the kill. She calls the blonde out, asking her what she's doing and calling the girl a slut. After an awkward conversation of bantering questions and vague answers, Ashley wins. But, in some weird way, she also ends up saving Dunbar from possibly cheating on his girlfriend.
Fast-forward to present day and Isaac is gone. His mother bought him a ticket home, and having to catch his flight, he leaves without announcing his departure. This is something he feels he should explain after everything is said and done. He will return, but no one knows when.
That night, the girls go out on the town. Wait, make that the girls and Dunbar. As they all go their separate ways at a bar, Dunbar and Ahsli take a seat in the corner. Dunbar, looking down at the table, sheepishly says that they could make out right now. Ashli looks over. She loves the fact that he is hard to get, but in no way likes that he has a girlfriend. She has to keep her cool, as does he. Will Dunbar be strong, or cave under the cruel intentions of the new girl, Ashli?
