Katie Blair has some tips on the importance of keeping your mind as beautiful as the rest of you.
After the Miss Universe Organization dropped the bombshell that former Miss USA Tara Conner would be rejoining the organization, Tara heads over to Pageant Place and knocks on the door. Although current Miss USA Rachel Smith is inside, there's no answer. At first it looks like Rachel is ignoring the knocks but, after some confusion about whether the door is locked or unlocked, she gets up to let Tara in.
Rachel greets Tara with a hug, even though she isn't exactly happy to see her. Inside, Tara meets the reigning Miss Universe, Riyo Mori, for the first time. Riyo blushes when Tara blurts out, "You're so beautiful!" It looks like Tara and Riyo are off to a good start.
Tara can sense that Rachel is a little uncomfortable with the fact that she's back in the picture, so she reassures Rachel that she's not there to steal the spotlight. When Rachel asks Tara about the whole Katie Blair situation, Tara admits that she could still be mad about how everything unfolded but says she doesn't hold any resentment toward the Miss Teen USA. Despite what Tara says, Rachel proclaims that Bitchfest 2007 will begin as soon as Katie walks through the doors of Pageant Place.
After killing some time by inspecting Tara's new tattoos, including a crown on the inside of her lower lip, Katie and her boyfriend, Josh, finally come home. It's the moment everyone's been dreading.
When Katie spots Tara she lets out a halfhearted shriek and gives her an awkward hug. Once Katie and Josh settle in, the mood gets very uncomfortable very quickly. There's a lot of awkward small talk as everyone tries to ignore the tension between the ex-BFFs. Then, Josh invites Tara to his birthday dinner, even though the restaurant they're going to is the same place that Tara and Katie had their big fight that lead to Katie turning Tara in to the Miss Universe Organization for drug use.
Fast forward to the Pageant Place gang during a rather quiet, uncomfortable dinner at Rosa Mexicano. The night only gets worse as Josh keeps putting his foot in his mouth. First, he puts down Rachel for wanting to start a philanthropic organization, saying it isn't realistic and won't make her any money. Then, he tells everyone the story about how he never, ever thought Katie would win Miss Teen USA. Finally, as he downs his second drink, he questions whether Tara will really be able to stay sober. Awkward!
Later, while Katie and Josh are hanging out alone, Katie wonders aloud about what might have happened if she never made that fateful phone call about Tara's hard-partying ways. Although she says she doesn't regret her decision, Katie can't help but wonder if things between her and Tara would be different if she had just kept her mouth shut.
The next day, Katie and the rest of the Pageant Place girls head to a photo shoot. Josh is supposed to stop by, but he's running late, which is actually a blessing in disguise. Dressed in a barely-there bikini and posing with a shirtless male model, Katie knows how possessive Josh can be, so she's glad he's not around to see what's going on.
The shoot is going well ? until Josh arrives, entering the studio just in time to see an oiled up Katie with another man's hands all over her. Josh immediately flies into a rage, wondering why Katie wanted him to watch this. Tara tries to calm him down but it's no use, so Katie takes a break to go talk to him. Josh is so infuriated, though, that he winds up upsetting Katie, almost bringing her to tears.
At this point, the photo shoot has been completely derailed and Josh decides to leave. Katie is left behind in tears. One of the stylists sums up the situation by saying, "Work is work ? he's going to have to accept it, and, if not, then he's not the one for you." After all Katie and Josh have been through, could this be the final straw?
