When we last left this wild and crazy family, they were vacationing in Hawaii sans Kelly. Now the clan is back in Cali and things are a mess as usual, but this time around, Kelly is our problem child, not Jack.
First Kelly decides she wants to pierce her lip and tests the waters by asking everyone what they think of the idea. The consensus among her family is that it will look horrible and she should not go through with it, but of course Ms. Independent pierces her lip in secret anyhow.
Jack is the first to see it and tattles on her to Sharon and Ozzy, disrupting the couple's valuable alone time in their lavish bed. When Sharon announces her disapproval of Kelly's newly pierced lip by calling it "disgusting," Kelly stabs back at Sharon, pointing out all the tattoos Jack and Ozzy have and calling Sharon "out of her mind" for being so upset over a lip ring.
As far as the rest of the family is concerned, Kelly's new lip ring is not her only problem these days. Sharon discovers that Kelly has been walking around with a thousand dollars in cash, which Kelly claims was to pay for a friend's gym membership. Kelly has also been throwing up a lot, but she denies having done drugs or having anything to drink.
Kelly's new problem is so obvious that even Ozzy calls Sharon to tell her he thinks Kelly is on drugs and something has to be done to help her. Kelly decides to go the doctor. During her visit she gets an ultrasound and tells Sharon that she has gallstones. Jack points out that Kelly is unusually young for gallstones and agrees with Ozzy that Kelly is on drugs. He even suggests that Kelly is getting them from a junkie friend named Fred.
Kelly keeps throwing up and wanders about the house in confusion. Sharon and Ozzy decide Kelly must go to rehab. A van comes and takes her away, with Sharon and Ozzy fearful that she will leave once she's gotten there. Kelly survives her first day and calls them with a few requests--she wants a DVD player for her room and more clothes. Sharon and Ozzy reflect on their daughter's situation. Sharon decides to call the mother of one of Kelly's friends and threatens her and tells her to keep her daughter away from Kelly. Sharon is still fearful that Kelly will leave the rehab center before completing her program there. Ozzy reminds her that for the time being they have done all they can do as parents, and that sometimes you have to let go.
Will Kelly be able to get in check and stay clean or will she go back to her rebellious ways? Stay tuned to find out.
