Valentine's Day is a day for couples to share their love and appreciation for each other. However, for Jessica Simpson, Valentine's Day is just another occasion to spend a lot of money.
Jessica is going all out on this Hallmark holiday, and purchases a plethora of gifts for Nick that includes a rented Ferrari, a chef to help her cook dinner for him, a violinist, and a server. Her shopping trip starts in Hustler Hollywood, though, and there is no doubt whatever she buys it will be Nick's favorite item.
While Jessica is waiting for Nick's presents to begin arriving, Nick becomes nervous because he "likes to be in control." He obviously hates surprises and is very apprehensive about the day. When the doorbell rings, Nick stands by the front door and refuses to open it for the mysterious man, until Jessica prods him a little. To Nick's pleasant surprise, the man is there to deliver a sleek, black Ferrari for Nick to drive for the day.
The next to arrive is the professional chef that Jessica hired to help her cook dinner. However, upon seeing his live lobsters, she gives up cooking and lets the nice Italian chef do all the dirty work. While Jessica stands in the kitchen and watches the chef in bewilderment, Nick goes out with Drew for a relaxing drive and some time at the golf range.
Jessica's fiasco in the kitchen continues when the chef asks her to kill the lobsters, in his thick Italian accent. Jessica cannot, and has failed yet another cooking mission.
Nick and Drew continue their day of sports and play a one-on-one game of b-ball, and Jessica, her friend, and Lea, try to figure out how to assemble a formal table, add flower arrangements, and set the table with formal dinnerware.
The server and the violinist arrive to complete the dinner arrangements, and Nick finally comes home. Jessica is all dolled up, and Nick runs to take a shower while she slaves over reheating the chef's masterpieces.
They enjoy their dinner, and once they are done, it's time for Jessica to clean-up--on gifts that is. Nick gives her a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a pair of platinum and diamond earrings. She jokingly calls him her "sugar daddy," and the two relax with an after-dinner drink.
This Valentine's Day in the Simpson household is definitely one for the record books, and it slowly comes to an end with a serenade from Nick, and Jessica quietly walking up the stairs, to go to bed.
