Normally new artists work with "up-and-coming producers," but Diddy's got friends and the girls are working with none other than Rodney Jerkins, the legendary talent behind hits for everyone from Beyonce to Britney to Madonna and beyond. The girls elect Aundrea to lead their song since it's in her register. She has a bit of a hard time at first, but is able to finally hit it.
Later that evening, Aundrea calls Rudy but he's drinking with his friends. He tells her he's planning on going to Las Vegas. When she asks him if he has a reason to come to New York, he tells her no. Aundrea talks to Shannon about her problems with Rudy. Aundrea feels that Rudy blames her for leaving, but Rudy needs to understand that Aundrea has wanted to sing since she was a child.
Aundrea keeps trying to get a hold of Rudy, but can only get through to his voice mail. The girls decide to start practicing, but Aundrea is having a hard time focusing. D. Woods points out that Aundrea isn't even trying.
Aundrea calls Rudy when she wakes up in the morning. Rudy asks her why she didn't call the night before. When she says she fell asleep, he tells her that he has seen her true colors and that she's "100% phony." Rudy tells her he's tired of all of this and she's stopped putting effort into the relationship. After Aundrea tells Rudy he can think that if he wants, he tells her that he's done and he doesn't want to be with her anymore. D. Woods finds Aundrea and tries to comfort her. When Aundrea goes to the bathroom, D. Woods tells the girls that Rudy broke up with Aundrea. When Aundrea comes back to speak with the girls, they try to cheer her up.
Later that night, Rob Lewis stops by and tells the girls he's taking them to The Village Underground --and that they'll be performing. The girls are a bit in shock, but aren't going to back down now. The performance goes well and they step off stage to a room full of applause. Rob tells the girls that they should be proud of themselves. Aundrea decides that she doesn't need someone who is not going to support her and what she's doing.
