It's Valentine's Day in Laguna Beach, which means love
-- and drama -- is in the air.
Kyndra and Tyler have a dinner party planned for
the day of romance, but with Kyndra's latest hookup, Cameron, on the guest list, it looks like disaster is on the menu.
Kyndra lets off some steam at the gym, telling
Cami she's irritated about Nikki reporting back to her brother Tyler about what happened with Cameron at Winter Formal. She says she wishes Nikki would come to her instead of Tyler, but Cami points out that Kyndra would lie to Nikki if she did. Later Cami tells Nikki that about a fight her spy work caused, and Nikki says it's hard to be stuck in the middle of her friend and her brother.
Nick W. and Cameron discuss the upcoming party when Cameron gets a call from Jessica, who informs him that she has a missed call on her phone from Cami. Cameron acts just as confused about the missed call; after hanging up, he says it's probably because rumors are spreading.
Confident their fight is behind them, Kyndra treats Tyler to a pre-Valentine's Day dinner. But a bitter Tyler makes his unhappiness known by barely talking and refusing her gift. When she insists she did not hook up with Cameron, Tyler's only response is "whatever," followed by silence. The next day, she receives a similar response when she asks him if she can invite Cameron to the party.
For their romantic night, Alex takes Raquel to dinner where he admits he's not one to wear his emotions on his sleeve. Nonetheless, he grabs her hands and reads her "Live and Love" bracelet aloud before asking, "Do you live and love?" Raquel responds by saying, "I love you," for the first time in their relationship and after a few awkward seconds pass, a hesitant Alex reciprocates the sentiment.
But love isn't everywhere in Laguna, especially at Kyndra and Tyler's party. During the poolside dinner, Nick W. and Cameron share a laugh, saying Tyler is "gnarly." When everyone heads inside to shoot pool, Kyndra lags behind to talk to Cameron. When he's fairly unresponsive, she blows him off and heads inside.
Once there, Tyler accuses her of being too busy with Cameron and she swears she's been downstairs the whole time. But Tyler's in no mood to listen and says the relationship isn't working.
The next day, Alex recaps his date with a friend while skateboarding and while Raquel does the same on the beach with Tessa. They both say it was a romantic evening, but Alex says he's "not falling in love," while Raquel obviously feels otherwise.
Meanwhile, Tyler sits Kyndra down by the pool and says he knows that she lied to him about Cameron and that he wants to end their relationship. She tries to explain herself, but he has already made up his mind, and instead of arguing the point any further, Tyler asks her to leave.
