With Kid Rock, appearances aren't always what they seem. Behind the sunglasses and beyond his rock and roll lifestyle, Kid Rock enjoys a quiet, almost normal existence on a sprawling farm in sleepy Clarkston, Michigan just outside of Detroit. He has a 17 year old son who he's raised to be a stand up young man that's entering the most important year of his life -- his senior year of high school. Amidst his closest friends, eclectic music collection, classic cars (including the General Lee) and a fully functional civil war canon, Kid Rock has created a home for himself and his family. When he leaves he definitely misses it. Wouldn't you?

But, when Kid Rock hits the road, he hits it hard. It's full on for up to a year away from his family and the serene life of the farm.

In this half hour, cross-network special we're there with Kid Rock for his last two days at home before heading out on the road to promote and tour his new album, Born Free. Rock will share his unique perspective on life and music as he spends time with his son, family and wide variety of friends. He will also go through final rehearsals with his Twisted Brown Trucker Band and squeeze in as much chaos as possible when he lights up a bon fire and throws a house party.

Interspersed throughout the weekend's events and connecting the narrative will be a set of performances ranging from a full band rehearsal, to an intimate solo piano performance at his home.

Kid Rock is pulling out all the stops to make it a night to remember, if that's even possible by the next morning...
