Full Episode Summary

  1. With Fast Inc.'s five year anniversary around the corner, Christian finds himself in one of the closest places to heaven he can imagine: the parking area of the ZZ Top ranch. Top frontman Billy Gibbons, still with his signature long beard, is giving Christian a personal tour of cars he's been collecting over the years. It seems he's missing one key car, a 50's-style convertible. He wants one--and it's got to be up to ZZ Top standards.

Christian immediately contacts Tater, who has been a huge fan of ZZ Top his entire life. The deal they make is simple; If Tater can locate the caliber of car that Billy Gibbons is looking for, he can deliver it to him in person.

In other Fast Inc. news, Christian is also approached by his friend Kasky, an editor at Mean Magazine. Looks like Meanis looking to have a photo shoot and are going to need some help finding a car to fit the theme, Death Race 2000.

Since it would be impossible to find the exact car from Death Race, the guys are going to have to re-create it. Sounds like a job for Todd. He identifies the car from Death Race as a classic 70's Corvette and tracks one down shortly after. The problem with the Corvette is it's completely beat up.

Meanwhile, things are not looking too hot for Tater. He has been searching all over for a 50's convertible that will meet ZZ Top's standards, but has come up short every time. Finally he makes a stop to see George Barris, the man behind every famous television car. George has exactly what Tater is looking for, and Christian is surprised to see him so enthusiastic about his find. When Tater drops off the vintage Cadillac convertible to Billy and ZZ Top, the guys are all shocked that he was able to deliver such a gem.

After putting 72 straight hours of work into the Death Race replica, Todd and the Fast Inc. crew at Joshua Tree still have a lot left in front of them. Just when it seems like Mean isn't going to get their car, Todd appears from a cloud of dust in a perfectly reproduced version of one of the cars from Death Race 2000. The car runs perfectly, and it's not even that big of a deal that the paint is still wet.

After five years, Fast inc. is still going strong, Todd, Christian, and Tater's track record is close to perfect, which in retrospect is pretty impressive considering how high maintenance their clientele can be.
