When nineteen-year-old Chantel becomes engaged to her future husband, Jacob, his family is thrilled. Her family, however, is a different story.
After Jacob proposes to Chantel in front of his whole family, the two decide to push the wedding day forward due to family conflicts. At Jacob's house, everyone seems excited about the upcoming nuptials, welcoming Chantel with open arms and taking her in like a daughter. But, over at Chantel's house, her mother argues that her daughter isn't mature enough for marriage. Since Chantel repeatedly comes into conflict with her mother and sister about the upcoming wedding, she is forced to leave her home and move in with Jacob.
With three days until the wedding, Chantel begins her final preparations. At Jacob's parents' house, she shares some intimate bonding with her future mother-in-law, who gives her a bikini wax. Later at the Bachelorette party, Chantel receives skimpy underwear from family and friends, and is treated to a lap dance courtesy of some surprise male strippers.
Meanwhile, Jacob takes his mother to dinner on his last night as a bachelor. His mom, Kathy, shares how excited she is to be gaining a daughter, and reminds her son that, "Martin's are lifers." Jacob says he's prepared for the commitment and looking forward to his future with Chantel.
On the big day, the bride and groom primp for the wedding ahead. Taking pictures outside, Chantel explains that her mother is finally coming to grips with her marriage. Jacob's best man, Gabe, gives him some last minute advice, sharing his personal words of wisdom on how to keep the sparks alive.
The anxious couple finally heads to the alter and exchanges vows in front of family and friends. As they cap off the evening, the Martins look forward to the three S's -- shower, sex, and sleep.
This couple seems destined for happiness, but there's a tough road ahead when just one month after the wedding, the two find themselves broke and living in a trailer outside Jacob's parents' home.
