Does age really matter when you think you've found 'the one'? Twenty-one-year-olds Lauren and David are Christian virgins ready to make a life commitment and start their future as man and wife.
Lauren is a native New Yorker who left the Big Apple to live with her fiancé, David. After meeting at a Christian college, the two hit it off immediately. Holding the same Christian values and a passions, this couple seems to be a match made in heaven. Even though they're only twenty-one, these virgins are prepared to tie the knot so they can hit the sheets and start a life together.
But, even though they're ready to take the next step into adulthood, the two still face a sort of limbo when it comes to family. Lauren has been living with David's family in Florida, and the two plan to move into their cottage on his parents' property. Lauren struggles with David's extremely close knit family, especially since she has never been close to her own.
Since Lauren's mom can't shop with her, David's mom takes her dress shopping for the big day. As the couple makes plans to find the perfect B&B to spend their first night together, David's mom asks to see pictures of the location. Lauren hopes to set a line between his mother and her sex life, but David can't seem to understand why his future bride finds the situation weird.
David's mom throws the bride-to-be's wedding shower, where Lauren is surrounded by women she hardly knows. Meanwhile, David's father reminds him of their former agreement. While his father had set up a trust fund for David to collect if he waited to be married until 26, David finds the sum unimportant.
When the couple sits down with wedding plans, David's mom, Bonnie, sits by their side, hogging the information. Trouble arises when the two begin talks about wedding vows, and Bonnie chimes in with her own two cents on the situation. Things get even more uncomfortable when Bonnie tells Lauren she'll be climbing in bed with her fiancé that night.
As the wedding approaches, things become tense as Lauren's brother shows up hours late to the wedding rehearsal. When he finally arrives, David meets his brother-in-law, Jared, for the first time. Although Jared warns his sister against marrying at such a young age, Lauren still plans on going through with the day.
Wedding drama aside, the two tie the knot outdoors in a beautiful ceremony. Lauren is welcomed into David's family, and the two are finally able to share a bed as man and wife.
