The life of an up-and-coming dancer can be rough, especially when you have yet to get your foot in the door. This is what Dancelife is all about.

There's a buzz throughout the dance community that a big audition for a Jennifer Lopez project is coming up. And it's no surprise among this crowd that everyone's life will come to a halt when they get a phone call and an invitation to the Los Angeles tryout.

The competition level at the audition is high, and the atmosphere is nerve wracking as choreographers begin warming up hopeful candidates. The room goes silent when Jennifer Lopez enters with beau Marc Anthony on her arm.

Lopez encourages the men and women to push their moves to the limits, but to refrain from hurting themselves. After many hours and several cuts of the field of auditioning dancers, the number of candidates diminishes considerably.

Lopez narrows her male search down to two dancers: Kenny and Blake. Kenny danced his way to L.A. from Boston and although he's got an impressive resume, he's still something of a newcomer. Blake, is a more established dancer who hails from Toronto, and is notably cockier and more aggressive.

For Jersey, a dancer from New Jersey, things aren't going quite as well. Far from her tight-knit family, she lives check-to-check, struggling to get by with hopes of landing her big break in Hollywood. Thanks to a breakdown on her way to the audition, she arrives just in time to meet Celestina and

Staci who have just been cut from the field of auditioning dancers.

The three new friends head out to get some iced coffee and chat about what it's like trying to make it as a professional dancer.

Later on Kenny meets up with his roommate Nick -- also a dancer -- at the park with some good and bad news. The bad news is that he's not going to be able to make any of their upcoming football games for a while. But, that's because he got a call from Jennifer Lopez's people. He's been booked for her upcoming project and is on his way to making his dream come true.
