The Daddy's Girls cast discusses the important role their parents play in their lives.
While out for coffee with Lynn and Jessica, Angela and Vanessa reveal their new marketing plan for Pasty: include a hang-tag on each set of sneakers and clothing that has a recipe for that kind of Pastry. They have five short days to perfect the recipes for a presentation to several buyers. Time to get to work!
After a mix-up at the dog groomers, Jessica suggests that Angela and Vanessa start looking for a personal assistant to keep track of these things. They call up Rev for advice on how to find a good assistant and he reminds them that his birthday is coming up that Friday...aka, the same day as their meeting. Vanessa promises him they'll be there for the occasion but isn't sure how she and Angela will get everything done in time.
When they tell Jessica about the dilemma, she points out they're under a deadline and it might now be the best time to leave town. Vanessa calls the house to warn Rev that they might not make it, but Russy gives her grief about forgetting about the family now that they're in LA.
Jessica recruits Alycia and Lynn to help her sort through applications for the personal assistant position. She's also convinced Solomon to push the meeting up to Thursday so Angela and Vanessa can take a red eye home -- as long as they're ready to present on Thursday.
Armed with chef hats, the girls are ready to start baking. Unfortunately, a call from Rev interrupts their process. Russy has told him that they might not make it for the birthday, but Vanessa reassures him that they're working on their project and will be there for the big day. Several hours and failed recipes later, the girls realize they've bitten off more than they can chew and won't be able to move the meeting up like they'd hoped.
The next morning, Vanessa makes Angela call Rev to let him know they won't be able to get home for his birthday. To their surprise, he isn't upset and actually tells them that the two of them finding their way in the world is the best gift he could have hoped for. The girls feel a lot better -- but they've still got a lot of work to do for their presentation!
First though, they have to come meet the final three candidates for the assistant position. Tony gets major points for running out of the interview to go grab Angela a green tea, fixed just the way she likes it. The deal is completely sealed when Juicy immediately takes to him and hops into his lap.
For his first official duty, Tony takes the girls to Guitar Center to pick out the perfect birthday present for Rev. After listening to Angela and Vanessa bicker about drums and guitars, Tony comes up with the perfect solution: a digital turn table.
Angela and Vanessa give their presentation to the buyers, using Lynn, Jessica and Alycia to model the outfits and bring out trays of the real desserts that inspired them. The buyers are very impressed with the concept and, even though they're disappointed they couldn't get back to New Jersey, Angela and Vanessa are happy knowing that Rev is proud of them -- and that he loves his new turn table!
