Full Episode Summary

  1. On this cross-country episode of Cribs, we visit three very different states to peek into the homes of singer/actress Emmy Rossum, NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Philadelphia Phillies' Jimmy Rollins.

The first stop on the Cribs tour is in Beverly Hills, Calif., where we get an insider's look at the pad of Emmy Rossum, accomplished songwriter and versatile actress who starred in Poseidon and Mystic River. Emmy has performed in operas since the age of seven, so it's no surprise that her work in the film adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber's classic The Phantom of the Opera earned her a Golden Globe nomination in 2005.

In the foyer of her house, Emmy Rossum introduces us to her two tiny dogs, Cinnamon and Sugar. Then, after checking out her home theater and music room, we head to the kitchen. Emmy's fridge is filled to capacity with bottles of Fiji Water, Dom Perignon (left over from her 21st birthday) and a rainbow of exotic gelato flavors.

Next, Emmy Rossum shows us her favorite part of the house: her bathtub where she takes her all-important bubble baths. Outside, we glimpse the pool where she filmed the music video for "Slow Me Down" and the chair where she writes song lyrics. Last stop, of course, is the driveway. Unlike most Cribs hosts, Emmy is more about going green than spending it, so she proudly shows off her Chevy Malibu and Lexus SUV hybrids before bringing the tour to an end.

Heading to Mooreville, N.C., we find Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his 150-acre estate. The NASCAR superstar has been named the sport's most popular driver for five years running, and for good reason. With 18 wins and more than 80 top-five finishes since 2000, Dale has earned plenty of cash to put toward his palatial manor. This isn't Dale's first time on Cribs, but he's got a new pad now and he's just aching to show it off.

The tour kicks off in the living room, which houses a huge painting of Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s dog, Killer, and a 60-inch TV. We then take a quick stop in the casino-style poker room before he leads us to the kitchen. Dale's fridge contains nothing but AMP Energy drink and Budweiser, but he won't exactly be going hungry. His freezer is always stocked with a freshly FedExed supply of his favorite ribs from Rendezvous in Memphis. Hands off!

Down in the basement, Dale Earnhardt Jr. welcomes us to the Good Times themed "sugar shack" where he and his friends get down -- no, really. Out front, he introduces us to Laverne and Shirley, his two pet buffalo, and his three longhorn Texas cattle. Dale then takes us from cattle to Corvettes as he shows off his five favorite rides, each of which comes with its own bikini-clad "mechanic." Next stop is Dale's very own '60s-style gas station where he refuels his go-karts before taking them on his personal racetrack. Guess who always wins?

Taking a walk down an old dirt road, we find ourselves in Whiskey River, Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s private frontier town. Whiskey River comes complete with a fully stocked saloon, a jail for the troublemakers and a hotel for Dale's better behaved guests. Stepping out of the past, Dale ends the tour when he meets some friends by his gigantic pool and hot tub -- this party's private!

Finally, Cribs is northward bound to New Jersey, where we visit Jimmy Rollins, shortstop for the Philadelphia Phillies. Baseball has been very good to the three-time all-star and 2007 National League MVP, and his crib is proof. As one of only four players in the elite 20-20-20-20 club (players who have racked up at least 20 doubles, triples, home runs and stolen bases in a single season), Jimmy is a force on the field. But let's see how this major leaguer lives on the other side of the foul line.

Jimmy Rollins starts the tour by showing off a massive acrylic sculpture from Las Vegas that dominates his entryway. Then, after scoping his living room's silk sofa and oversize chairs, he heads to the kitchen that houses a fridge full of his fave New Jersey delicacy: Wawa brand lemonade tea. Jimmy then shows us his king-size massage bed before heading downstairs to the basement. There, he has a custom pool table and a totally pimped out home theater.

Also in the theater is the lady of the house, Jimmy Rollins' girlfriend Johari. They both go upstairs to introduce their dogs and show off the pool that Jimmy outfitted with a mini waterfall so he could enjoy some cliff-diving -- without leaving his backyard! Finally, Jimmy takes us to check out his whips: a smoked out black-on-black Bentley for traveling incognito and a 500 horsepower Mercedes-Benz for when he feels like getting noticed. With that, it's time for the Cribs crew to hit the road 'cause Jimmy has a game to get ready for!
