The road from Texas to California has the potential to be arduous, but with parents like Cheyenne's it's highly unlikely. Instead of spending hours trapped inside of stuffy car in the middle of the desert, this clan is spending a few days on a mini-vacation across the Southwestern United States.
The first stop on the tour is to pick up a copy of the Aqua Marine soundtrack at in New Mexico. As Cheyenne's music has never before been available for purchase in a record store, so this is a landmark moment in her life.
That night at dinner, Cheyenne's mom is a little worried about her daughter going so long with out practicing in front of a live audience, especially since she is going to have to play a lot when she gets to Los Angeles. In order to get her daughter to practice, Cheyenne's mom makes a bet that if she can't find her a venue to play by the end of the trip then she is going to give up her mobile phone for two months. Upping the ante, if Cheyenne backs down from the gig, then she'll loose her phone for two months. The two shake on it and the bet is on.
The following day, after detours at several tourist attractions, Mom gets a call from Cheyenne's manager. Eddie says he's found the perfect place for an impromptu performance: a local country western bar. Even though she isn't looking forward to the gig, Cheyenne doesn't back down or even bat an eyelash. Instead, she gets on stage and puts all of her energy into her performance, even though she breaks a guitar string along the way.
Before the end of the trip Cheyenne and company make one final stop in Arizona at the Grand Canyon. Mom starts to loose her patience with Dad and Cheyenne when they stand to close to the edge, but quickly forgets about it. Arriving in Southern California shortly after leaving the U.S. landmark, Mom is automatically back to business setting Cheyenne up for session after session in the studio. And it looks like the vacation is over and its time for Cheyenne to get to work.
