In 1988, MC Lyte's debut album, Lyte as a Rock, was released, featuring the songs "I Cram to Understand U (Sam)" and "10% Dis." By the time her sophomore set, Eyes on This, was released in 1989, MC Lyte was a force to be reckoned with. The song "Cha Cha Cha" was an instant hit, soaring to the top of the Billboard rap singles chart. Her 1993 track, "Ruffneck," from the album Ain't No Other, became the first single by a female rap artist to go gold.

MC Lyte took her career to the next level by appearing on such TV shows as Moesha, Strong Medicine, New York Undercover and Half & Half. In 2006, she was the first solo female rapper to be honored at VH1's Hip-Hop Honors. On Celebrity Rap Superstar, she's hoping to inspire a whole new generation of female MCs by mentoring Shar Jackson. Will Lyte help Kevin Federline's ex show the boys how it's really done?
