After 15 weeks and thousands of ballots, the Tournament of Terror has drawn to a close. Your pick as the baddest beast in all the land is none other than Jason Voorhees, who finished off Freddy Krueger by a margin of about 10 percent of your votes. If you've got a bone to pick or an ax to grind, You Tell Us how the Tournament should have turned out.
You can also keep the horror going with MTV.com's collection of horror DVDs.
Name: Jason Voorhees
Height: 6'8"
Weight: 240 lbs.
Hails from: Camp Crystal Lake
Strengths: Seemingly immortal, superhuman strength, spontaneous regeneration and infinite creativity when it comes to killing
Weaknesses: Not the brightest bulb, definite mother issues
Onscreen highlights: "Friday the 13th Part 2," "Friday the 13th Part 3," "Freddy Vs. Jason"
The 101: Killers like Jason aren't born, they're made ... in his case, under relentless torment from his fellow summer campers. Undoubtedly, genetics didn't hurt either, as Jason's mother hacked through counselors like warm butter in the first "Friday the 13th." But Jason picked up the ball and ran with it from there, and ran and ran and ran, through 10 sequels. Jason always scores points for creativity, and has yet to find a foe who can stop him.
The Rules: Entry is open to horror villains ONLY. Anti-heroes and creatures from other genres are excluded from the competition (sorry, no Orcs, Borg or Darth Vader). Characters must have appeared in at least one horror film. The field was chosen by a panel of horror experts, fans and enthusiasts. Factors such as strengths, weaknesses, body count and whether or not the creatures were acting with malicious and/or evil intent (as opposed to instinct, i.e. Jaws, Godzilla, etc.) were taken into consideration and hotly debated.
