What are the requirements for viewing this video?

Adobe™ Flash Player Version 9 is required to view videos on this player. Version 9.0.115 or later is recommended for optimal results.

The video keeps "loading" and no video is playing...

Depending on your connection speed, it may take up to 60 sec to load the video properly. If it still hasn't loaded, try turning off any ad blocker software (including checking your HOSTS file) that prevents access to doubleclick.

What can I do to improve my video experience?

I know I'm on a slow internet connection, but i still want to watch the best quality video - what can I do?

Select "small" size in the video player.

Why does the video keep "loading" or stutters frequently?

Network congestion can cause the video to play back badly or to keep buffering. If you have a connection that is rated at 512 kb/s or higher and you consistently get playback problems, you may need to talk to your Internet service provider (ISP) to sort out any potential problems with your connection configuration, or the level of service you're being provided.

I get video, but it looks choppy or blocky. . .

The video player automatically serves you the appropriate video quality and frame rate based on your connection speed. If your video looks choppy, this is most likely because your connection speed is not fast enough for the video quality you are watching. Click for tips on how to tune your video experience.

How do I know what my current connection speed is?

You can help us accurately identify your connection speed so that the player can provide the best possible video quality for your internet connection. Click on Settings in the video player controls. The Auto Detect option will display our estimation of your internet connection's capabilities. There are, however, a variety of technical reasons why this automatic detection may be inaccurate. If you know that your internet connection is quite different than our auto-detected value, you can improve the quality of your video experience by selecting the appropriate bit-rate from the dropdown menu. Here are some guidelines:

What if I pick the wrong connection speed in the Settings menu?

Why can't I download MTV.com video onto my computer?

In order to protect the rights of the MTV and other content producers, MTV.com content is available only as streaming content at the moment, and is not downloadable. MTV.com content is protected by co pyright, and may not be distributed without permission. We are looking for possible opportunities to provide downloads in the future.

What does the "Size" button do?

The Size button allows you to resize the player's screen for your viewing pleasure.

What does the "Share" button do?

The share button allows you to send an email to your friend about the video you are watching. It also allows you to copy and embed that piece of video content on many other sites like social network pages, and blogs. All you need to do is copy and paste the code.

How come the latest episode of [your favorite MTV show] isn't online yet?

We strive to put up the latest episode of our new shows online as soon as we can. Sometimes, there are clearance issues (i.e. not so fun legal requirements we can't get around) which can cause 1-2 days of delay.

How come [your favorite new or old MTV show] isn't online?

We would love to put all our show, new and old, online for our fans. Unfortunately, we need to work through clearance issues (i.e. not so fun legal requirements we can't get around) with the producers, cast and crew, and those procedures can take some time work out.
