The 2012 MTV Video Music Awards have come and gone. We know, we know, we're just as depressed as you are about it. Lucky for us, the show was filled with stellar performances, awesome awards, and fabulous fashion. We've got the whole thing cued up On Demand for you to watch over and over again (or, in the case of the One Direction performance, like a million times over). Want a rundown on some highlights from the show, broadcast live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Thursday, Sept 6th? Let's recap.

Our night kicked off with a pre-show party packed with your favorite celebs. MTV's 'Teen Wolf' star Holland Roden served as our red carpet correspondent, getting the deets on what the superstars were wearing. Plus, Demi Lovato wowed the outdoor audience with a performance of 'Give Your Heart A Break' before accepting the Moonman for Best Video With A Message.

At 8/7c on the dot, we darted inside the Staples Center to watch in awe as Rihanna, A$AP Rocky and Calvin Harris blew our minds with a raunchy performance of 'Cockiness (Love It)' and 'We Found Love.' No time to cool off – our host Kevin Hart quickly took the stage and cracked us all up by calling out the biggest celebrity mistakes of the year in his opening monologue before stage diving into the crowd. Best Pop Video was presented by last year's Video Of The Year winner Katy Perry, who planted a wet one on several of the studs of One Direction. Mac Miller and Miley Cyrus introduced P!nk's big and bright performance of 'Blow Me (One Last Kiss)' and Chris Brown accepted Best Male Video.

The performances kept on coming, with a soulful seranade from Frank Ocean and a scream-inducing set from One Direction. Drake brought his Young Money family on the stage with him to accept the Best Hip-Hop Video award, which was convenient for Lil Wayne, as he returned immediately after to perform 'Yuck' and 'No Worries' with 2 Chainz. Green Day got the crowd moshing with 'Let Yourself Go' and Wiz Khalifa announced he would be a proud papa to Amber Rose's growing baby bump. Alicia Keys and Best Female Video winner Nicki Minaj rocked out with Olympic gold medalist Gabby Douglas for a performance of 'Girl On Fire' and Rihanna got Kevin Hart to scream like a true member of her navy when he announced 'We Found Love' as Video Of The Year . Last but not least, the country queen Taylor Swift took us out with a super cute performance of her record breaking hit 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' The two hour show flew by far too fast but, lucky for us, we have All Access Live clips and Backstage Moments photos to keep us riding the VMA high for a little longer.

How will MTV top eight super sweet performances, a slew of awesome awards, and all of the rad online extras like Twitter Tracker and GIF It? Guess we'll have to tune in next year to find out. See you in 2013, Moonman lovers!
