After learning that their label, Metro Sound, wants to nix their new album, the members of Crossing Coldwater nurse their pain by partying in Las Vegas. But while hanging poolside, Kaya learns that the band can go back into the studio on Monday to lay down some new tracks.
While taking in the sun's rays, Kaya has an imaginary conversation with her dead sister, who gives her a hard time about the way the record label is treating Crossing Coldwater. But the conversation is cut short when Taylor comes over and offers to rub some sunscreen on Kaya's back. When Gunnar spots the sensual massage, he grows suspicious about what's going on between his bandmates.
On the way back from Vegas, Kaya and Natalee have a heart-to-heart about Kaya's love life. Kaya explains that she wants nothing to do with Taylor, saying she thinks there's still something between her and Gunnar. When Natalee suggests that Kaya should try to meet some new guys, Kaya laughs at the idea. But Natalee points out that DJ Mix seems smitten, so Kaya decides to give him a call.
Back in Los Angeles, a pimped out Hummer pulls up at the studio and drops off Kaya. Once the band realizes the Hummer belongs to DJ Mix, Gunnar and Taylor both look a little upset.
When the band walks into the studio, they find their former producer, T. Davis, waiting for them. When T. says he wants to work on the album again, an argument immediately fires up. Kaya's father, Don, steps in to mediate as the band's manager, asking T. to listen to the band's ideas. T. agrees, but the members of Crossing Coldwater are skeptical.
That night, Taylor and Gunnar share a six-pack and some laughs about the groupie Manny's been hanging out with. While talking, Gunnar throws Taylor for a loop when he reveals that he wants Kaya back.
The next morning, Kaya, Taylor and Gunnar are woken up by Manny's super-loud alarm clock, which is blasting one of their unreleased tracks from their album on the radio. Somehow the song has leaked?
Kaya bounces into her father's office, excited that Crossing Coldwater's new song is being played on the radio. But her father is concerned that her excitement might be short-lived, implying that Kaya may have been the one responsible for the leak.
While taking a break in the studio, Gunnar flips through a tabloid magazine and spots some candid shots of Kaya and Taylor locking lips. The photos send Gunnar into a rage. He hurls the magazine at Kaya, calling her a "skank," and sucker punches Taylor. A huge fistfight ensues and the studio gets trashed in the process.
Once the fight is over, Kaya is in the bathroom with Gunnar trying to bandage up a cut on his head. She apologizes, revealing that she felt rejected when Gunnar had a date the night of the Taylor hookup. But the apology doesn't make Gunnar feel any better, and Kaya decides it would be best for her to move out of the house until things cool off.
During a business meeting, Metro Sound's Rossi tells Don to find out who leaked the Crossing Coldwater track so he can "eliminate" the problem.
Meanwhile, Kaya is having second thoughts about moving out of the house, but Natalee reassures her it's the right thing to do. As she's packing her stuff, Taylor asks Gunnar if they're cool and Gunnar simply answers "not yet."
As Kaya's about to leave, everyone in the band receives text messages telling them that their leaked song is turning out to be a huge hit. When Don arrives to pick Kaya up, he reveals that he told Rossi he was responsible for the leak.
Outside, Kaya thanks her father for taking responsibility for the leak, even though it was her doing. Now that the song is a hit, she's extremely happy with her decision, as it will surely help Crossing Coldwater get what they want. But Kaya's smile quickly disappears when her father tells her that Rossi fired him for admitting that he leaked the song.
