It was a tough morning again, waking up early after a long night. But we were all pretty excited for the day to begin. We caught a boat to Isla Mujeres, an island that was about a 45-minute boat ride away. Once we arrived, we passed out in the hammocks overlooking the ocean while we were waiting to get our gear for the zip line. I decided to be the brave one and go first. It was a lot higher than I expected and I got a little nervous. Cheryl was the daring one, wanting it to go quicker and faster. Cheryl got going so fast that at the end of the zip line the cord whipped her backwards, and she ended up pulling herself back to the tower! It looked like a workout.
After the zip line we decided to cool off and get some ice cream before going snorkeling. We all had banana ice cream, mmm. Then we put on our snorkel gear and headed for the water. None of us had snorkeled in the ocean before, so this was definitely an amazing experience. Looking under the water and not being able to hear a sound was like being in a whole different world; it was very peaceful. We then swam out to a tower in the middle of the reef/ocean and took our gear off. We tested our balance on the tight rope. We couldn't stop laughing because we kept swaying back and forth, almost falling back into the ocean.
We then took a taxi to the other side of the island where we could swim with the dolphins. The dolphins were beautiful. They were so friendly and loving, and they loved to be touched. Being so close to them was a breathtaking experience. We each even got a little kiss from the dolphin.
We were pretty hungry after doing so much, so we decided to go further into town and grab a bite to eat. This was definitely the "true Mexico." It was not a tourist spot at all. The food was great!
We headed back to the boat at the end of the day and were so tired that all three of us fell asleep on the boat. Towards the end of the ride the ship started to play music, so we decided to get the party started and dance. A group of guys next to us decided to join us.
That night we went to Fat Tuesday's with the Cancun Capers boys: Frankie, Courtney and Chris. Those "190 Octane" drinks really started to kick in, and we all got a little crazy!
We knew we would have to get up early Tuesday, so after a long night we headed home and got a couple hours of a siesta.
