In this excerpt from the video treatment for Good Charlotte's "Boys and Girls," directors The Malloys explain the premise for the 'Twilight Zone' world the band exists in:
"An older man is mowing the lawn, but instead of the man looking like you're typical overweight dad with the black socks and white T, this old man has a mo-hawk and is covered in tattoos. He waves to his neighbor across the street. It's an old lady unloading her groceries out of her station wagon. She too is a total punk rocker with bright purple hair. Even her poodle has spiked green hair and an Anarchy symbol shaved into it's fur...We cut to the inside of Joel and Benji's house...Joel is standing in front of the mirror tying his tie and Benji is practicing his karate out of his YMCA manual. Their room is covered with educational posters that you would typically see in a classroom. Pictures of rainbows and unicorns...It's the dorkiest room youve ever seen."
