When you create your video, your original copy should be "broadcast ready." That means a screen size of 640x480 pixels and a frame rate of 30 frames per second. These original files, however, would be way too large to submit to MTV over the internet.
When you have finished your video, you should save and upload a separate copy that meets the following requirements.
The Screen Size of your video should be 320x240 pixels.
The Frame Rate of your video should be 15 frames/second.
We recommend that your video be submitted in either MPEG (.mpg, .mpeg), AVI (.avi), or QuickTime (.mov) file format. We also accept Real Media (.rm) files. All other file types will be automatically deleted by our server.
The File Size of your video should be less than 5 MB. Files larger than 5 MB will be automatically deleted from our server.
If your video is selected, MTV's producers will contact you to get the “broadcast ready” version for use on-air.
Read the Guidelines
Make your MPEG.
