Metallica has definitely been the most influential thing in my life. The music, along with the members attitudes, has impacted my everyday life; from how I dress, how I act, to how I talk and present myself. I can't go a day without experiencing the beauty that they create. From Metallica creating their own music, to covering other band's music, it is all by far the best. Songs like "One", "Orion", "To Live is To Die", "Fade to Black", "Master of Puppets", "Blackend", and "Nothing Else Matters" mean so much to me. Not only are they musical masterpeaces, the Mozart of the time/genre, but the songs really mean something. Such as "Master of Puppets" being about the horrors of drug abuse. Ever since being introduced to Metallica in elementary school by a friend, they have by far blown all other music out of the water. For about 4 years now, I haven't worn anything but Metallica shirts, as I have well over 20 of them. My backpack (being that I'm still in high school!) is littered with Metallica patches. I own every one of their CDs, close to all of their shirts, all of the action figures, and the box set. Now, I know just owning material doesn't represent how someone truly feels about something, but you can ask anyone who has every met me and they will tell you that I am the most hardcore, dedicated Metallica fan that they have ever met. I know all of the lyrics by heart, and I defend Metallica on a regular basis. The "hardcore" kids at my school who are all into talentless slipknot and such try to make fun of Metallica and say they have no talent, little do they know that I actually study Metallica's history and that I know how many awards and millions of albums they have sold! I have only had the opportunity to see Metallica in concert one time, and wow was it pure ecstasy; like an orgasm that lasted from the time that they went on stage to well after they got off. I set aside time each night to just turn off the lights, turn up Metallica, and reflect on my life with their music. The music does something to me, it's like a pure adrenaline rush that also makes me think clearer and really see how bad all of the other music is. Now, I know that I am not good at expressing my thoughts, and even if I was, there is no way that I could word how I feel towards Metallica, so I suppose I can't fully explain to you about how much they mean to me.
