Face to Face with Aerosmith
Renee, 20

Back in 1997 my friend and I brought pink roses to the Hollywood Bowl show with the intention of giving them to Steven. We were trying to get them passed up to the stage when a guy who said he was Aerosmith's tour manager said that he would give them to Steven, and that he'd even give us autographed pictures for being to nice. He had on a VIP pass, pictures of himself and his son with the band, and a business card so we could call him later, so we thought he was legit. We called him once and he never sent us our stuff. Then my friend Julie was on an AOL chat with the guys when they were promoting the "Just Push Play" album. She mentioned the roses thing, and Steven seemed to respond, and said that he would have his manager get in touch with her. He even asked if it was "JT" that she talked to (those are his initials). About two hours later she got a message from their manager's assistant. He took Julie's address and both our names. Later, we both got personally-addressed photos (mine says "Renee-Thanks for being a fan like you are. Steven Tyler"), and the "Just Push Play" CD signed by the whole band! It's really great to know that no matter how small the deed, the guys in Aerosmith are willing to go the extra mile to get close to their fans!
