SPEAK YOUR PEACE: PSA CONTEST
What can you do in 10 seconds? Attack someone for being female. Slight somebody because he's black. Mock a gay guy. Or you could change the world. Use your time to take action and combat discrimination in the Speak Your Peace: MTV/SHiNE PSA Contest.
MTV and SHiNE (Seeking Harmony in Neighborhoods Everyday) challenge you to make a 10-second PSA (public service announcement) addressing discrimination issues. A PSA is like a commercial but instead of selling something, it delivers an important statement about a serious matter. Your video can be live action, animation, include people, puppets, whatever -- just be sure that it sends a powerful message about the dangers of discrimination or a possible solution. It should motivate others to rethink or change intolerant behavior.
One grand-prize winner will have his/her or their PSA air nationally on MTV. The first, second and third-place winners will have their work featured on the Fight For Your Rights Web site. All entries must be received by October 15, 2001. Winners will be notified in November.
Send entries to: Speak Your Peace: MTV/SHiNE PSA Contest, C/O SHiNE Inc., 648 Broadway, Suite 301, New York, NY 10012.
MTV and SHiNE want to remind contestants that they must obtain permission
themselves for all potential copyright or trademark infringements. These
include (among others) logos, music, and video clips that are not in the
public domain.
