Madonna

Ok MTV,
Writing about the Madonna video you have on there. Where is Like a Prayer? Where is What it Feels Like for a Girl? Where is Erotica? Like a Prayer has violence, blasphemy, interracial love with a saint, implied sex, and extreme symbolism, and could have ended in possible excommunication for Madonna. How come it didn't make the list? What it Feels Like For a Girl has even more violence and was banned from your channel. It also contained vulgar language, implied substance abuse, that whole 666 thing, and extreme symbolism. Erotica was only shown three times on your channel at late night. I have the video, it is pretty racy. I even have to say, Open your Heart should have made the list for its homosexual symbols and sexual display and environment. In fact, this whole controvercial show should have been called "madonna's most contravercial videos...with prodigy."

I don't see this video so much as controversial as it is a double standard that is not very well addressed. It's true that females can dress up in male clothing and have "boyish" haircuts, but if a male wears a skirt, the color pink, or high heels he is automatically deemed a freak of nature and is shunned. The assumption is that a male must be "gay" if he has attributes similar to those of a female or takes it upon himself to dress in what is considered "female" clothing. Society believes that real men are macho, fearless, protectors, and the spreaders of their seeds while anything less is considered unworthy by males and females alike. I applaud Madonna for having the guts to take this and many other taboos head-on, and that's why I will always remain a fan of hers no matter how outlandish or outrageous the content of her life and her music.

Madonna's video what it feel like for a girl has nothing wrong with it. I mean look at the movies that have things like that, which more people watch. Just cuz it's in a music video its banned. And I think that it is quite odd.

i thought that erotic by madonna should have been number one but it wasnt even on the countdown!!! Andrea

Oh Pulease!! This video is so not controversial, comparing to the videos they show now~! HA....so pathetic...Justify My Love should be played over and over for the times it missed back then...you know. people placing labels on videos they consider to be controversial need to lighten up and stop being so judgemental. yes this video has elements of homosexuality and bondage, but that to me is not necessarily controversial. to me, a controversial video would be very explicit in the areas of violence, racism, sexism of some sort. a woman showing different forms of intimacy and relationships does not strike me as being truly controversial.

Well........it's kind of hard to have guys understand what it's like for a girl......we can be just as bad as guys can.....the video looks like she wants to demonstrate how bad we can be....that's just my opinion on this video.....guys aren't the only bad ass people......
