i think that the fact that britney spears was even on the countdown is absolutely ridiculous!
is that the best mtv could find? oops i did it again.... i cant think of one thing controversial about it... maybe the bad dancing or something i dunno...

I don't see why "Baby One More Time" is considered a controversial video. It's probably the cutsiest video since Mandy Moore's "Candy"
This video was a risky chance Britney took combining school-girl innocence with a sexual fantasy started but soon started Britney's career and led the way for other young pop divas.

I think Britney Spears just coming into the business at this point was doing nothing but trying to make a name for herself. Her tummy is showing in this video but not as much as it is now. Her tummy taunting days have gotten out of control, she needs to realize that most of her fans are young, and they want to be exactly like her. She always said "I would be nothing without my fans" Well, if she keeps dressing like that her fans parents wont want their kids watching video's like this one.
this video shouldnt even be able to be classified as controversial, she is a self proclaimed virgin (please, lies, lies, and more lies) a virgin doesnt strut her stuff and wear skimpy clothes and look totally hot ! but justin timberlake knows for real! maybe that is why they broke up ? go figure
Coming from a girls point of view, I think that the video sucks, pardon my language. But come on, what kind of adult would dress up some 15 or 16 year old girl in a "naughty school girl" outfit and let her prance around for a video. Something is very wrong there. Not to mention that was, if I'm not mistaken, the song that got her career going.
I know if I was a male my reaction to this video would be very different. It's pretty sad though when someone likes your body more than the music you've worked so hard to make. You wouldn't beleive how often I hear 40 or 50 year old men comment on how "hot" she is. My friend works at a daycare and the little girls run around with their shirts pulled up claiming that "their Britney Spears". That's pretty sad if you ask me.
If she wants to be respected for what she does maybe she should concentrate more on her music instead of giving guys a striptease. Since that seems to be the only area of audience she's concentrating on. Sorry to vent but that pretty much sums up what I think of the "Baby one more time" video and pretty much all of her pathetic videos.
Thankyou have a good day!!!
hi! i am so glad you put Britney Spear's video "hit me baby one more time" on the most controversial videos list. she finally needs to be recongnized as not some innocent little girl anymore..but a bad role model..who makes it seem like all girls should look like her! she obviously has no respect for herself to go on stage and strip! thanks!!
oh come on mtv!! just when it appears possible that there will be ONE video countdown where MTV doesn't kiss her ass---YOU DO!! Controversial? PLEASE!!!!! Tupac's How Do you Want It (original version) was controversial. A controversial video is one that MTV DOESN'T air 75 times a day. It's one that is hardly ever aired. Baby One More Time does NOT fall into that category. You guys need to give yourself a TM symbol for product placement because it is frighteningly obvious that she is quickly becoming your ONLY product.
