Ryan Reynolds On The Chances Of A Deadpool Sequel: "If It Ain't Broke, Don't Break It"

The Merc has spoken.

Although 20th Century Fox has yet to make things official, the odds of there being a sequel to this year's R-rated box office darling Deadpool are about as likely as Wade Wilson getting distracted by a plate of chimichangas. In other words, it's happening. After all, the movie's post-credits sequence already teased Cable's arrival in the next installment.

When MTV's Josh Horowitz caught up with Reynolds backstage at the Movie Awards, where he took home two Golden Popcorns for his portrayal as the Merc with a Mouth, the actor said that Deadpool 2 is still in the "early days" of pre-production.

Though, when that sequel is inevitably green lit, expect Reynolds and co. to push the boundaries to more staggering heights in the follow-up.

"I assume that at some point we are going to be engaging in another one of these movies, and at that time, yeah, you got to push it a little bit farther," he said. "I don't think anyone is going to try and stop it because if it ain't broke, don't break it. That's kind of the philosophy at Fox."

Yeah... Fox isn't going to pass up the chance to make more of that Scrooge McDuck money. (Can't you just imagine Deadpool swimming in a water tower full of gold coins right now?)
