The Six Wolfpack Brothers Give Us An Inside Peek At Their DIY Movie Universe

Shut off from the outside world, the Angulos created movie mashups you'd never even dream of

The MTV Movie Awards Documentary nominee The Wolfpack revolves around the Angulo siblings, who were raised and homeschooled in confinement. Their parents forbid them to communicate with anyone beyond the walls of their New York City apartment, leaving them to learn about the outside world through their extensive collection of movies.

“Delving into what we loved watching onscreen is what gave us that sense of freedom,” Narayana Angulo told MTV News. “Using your imagination to kind of transcend to another world.”

Before long, the brothers started making their own DIY recreations. They’d recycle random objects in their apartment to construct props and costumes, and they filmed their own “mashups” by taking characters and plot lines from different films and fusing them into one (i.e., Mrs. Doubtfire meets Sister Act meets Dirty Harry).

Check out the video above to get an inside look at how the brothers' wild reimaginings come to life, and watch the MTV Movie Awards with them on Sunday, April 10 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
