Oscar may have snubbed John Travolta, but we at ATN are not such fair weather friends. Of course it warmed our hearts to see Travolta's remarkable box office rejuvenation with Pulp Fiction, Get Shorty and now Broken Arrow and we can savor with him the sweet revenge of the $20,000,001 payday for his next film. But John never fell out of favor in our eyes. He won a permanent spot in our hearts not as an actor but as a singer on one of pop's finest moments on 45, and no we're not talking about those pimple cream hits he cut when he was Vinnie Barbarino on "Welcome Back Kotter." We speak, of course, of "You're The One That I want," John's immortal duet with Olivia Newton-John from Grease, and no we're not trying to be cute; it is a great record. So we're proud to say Happy birthday John Travolta, rock 'n' roll star. Other birthdays belong to Yoko Ono, Dennis DeYoung (Styx), Robbie Bachman (BTO) and Juice Newton.
