The NBA All-Star weekend will get extra juice this year thanks to a pair of Oscar and Grammy-nominated headliners.
The NBA announced that Academy Award-nominee Pharrell Williams will topline the "Entertainment Series presented by Sean John at Macy's" during the February 16 game at New Orleans Arena. Pharrell will perform a set during player introductions that will feature some as-yet-unannounced special guests.
Halftime festivities will include a tribute to New Orleans music and culture led by Trombone Shorty and his band featuring Janelle Monae, Dr. John, Gary Clark Jr. and Earth, Wind & Fire. Clark Jr. will also perform the national anthem at the game, while singer Serena Ryder will handle the Canadian anthem.
Grammy nominee Kendrick Lamar will help get things started the night before with a medley of hits during the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest.
