Gomez was admitted to Arizona's Dawn at the Meadows on January 5. While the facility treats young patients with several addictions, Gomez was reportedly not treated for a drugs and alcohol issue. A spokesperson for the singer explained, "Selena voluntarily spent time at Meadows but not for substance abuse."
Since completing the rehab stay, a healthy-looking Gomez, 21, has made several public appearances, including one at the Sundance Film Festival to promote her upcoming indie drama, "Rudderless," which co-stars Billy Crudup and William H. Macy.
"The last straw was seeing them on the Segways," the unnamed source told E! "She needed to work on her emotional life. She needed to learn tools on how to deal with Justin and letting go of that relationship ... This is the first time she's ever taken the time to deal with issues, to deal with herself, with a therapist."
While she hasn't spoken about what sent her to treatment, she did post a video on Wednesday in which she appears to be getting her groove back. In the clip Gomez and two dancers work out some moves to A$AP Ferg's "Work"
Selenators were overjoyed to see their girl back in action, writing things like, "work it girl," "you are so pretty and a great dancer."
