Ariana Grande has two words for people that are hating on Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber: "Shut up."

Grande, who is known for her demure demeanor and powerhouse vocals, showed off her fighting form on Thursday (November 14) in an interview with Reuters where she lashed out against those who are constantly criticizing the actions of her fellow pop stars, especially Cyrus.

"She's an adult she can do whatever the hell she wants, honestly" Grande said about Cyrus. The two 20-year-olds were recently together at the 2013 MTV EMA, where Cyrus got people talking about how she lit up a joint while onstage.

"She looks amazing, she looks gorgeous," Ariana continued. "She looks stunning and she's having so much fun. If her choices aren't for you, don't look at it, move on, talk about something else, worry about bettering your life, not hers — she's fine. Her life is the best it could be right now, you know? That's what bothers me about people and about society. It's like, 'shut up.' "

The same sentiments go for her former tourmate, Bieber, who has had his fair share of headline-grabbing trouble over the past few weeks, which included an apology for kicking Argentinian flags onstage.

"He's doing the same thing as every other boy in the world right now," Grande said. "He's just under a microscope and he's being scrutinized by people that don't know him. I know him, and he's a good person — he really is, he's a nice person ... he's a good guy and he doesn't deserve what he's going through."

For the most part, Grande, who is gearing up to release a collection of Christmas songs, has remained unscathed from any media backlash, but that doesn't mean she's going to stop living her life the way she wants to.

"I'm not gonna not live my life in fear of what people are going to say," Grande said. "It's been more work to embrace, for a long time I was like, "Why are they talking about that?" I just put out a #1 album on Billboard, can I talk about that?"

Ariana will be putting out a four-song EP around the holidays, which includes her take on Wham!'s "Last Christmas." On Friday (November 15), she released another Instagram teaser of the song, showing off her Mariah-like vocals. The song will be released in full next Tuesday. After that, she will gift fans with a song every week leading up to the release.
