Snoop Dogg has come a long way since he dropped his debut album Doggystyle, but during his performance of his classic hit "Gin and Juice" at the 2013 MTV EMA on Sunday (November 10), he proved that the old Dogg can still get down.

The two-time EMA winner and 2007 host took the stage with Afrojack as his DJ and Dam Funk at Melkweg club in Amsterdam and glided across the stage starting with the track's unforgettable opening line: "With so much drama in the L-B-C/ It's kinda hard bein' Snoop D-O-double G."

In the song's video, a then-21-year old Snoop wore a blue hockey jersey and cornrow braids in his hair, and 20 years later, he took the stage in dreadlocks, his personalized "Snoop Dogg" microphone and an owl pendant on a chain, which looked a lot like Drake's OVO logo.

In the background psychedelic, 1970s-themed images of space and old-school Cadillacs flashed on the screen. And regardless of the two decades that have passed since the song's release, Snoop moved through the groove with relative ease and the same laid-back gangsta vibe he's given fans his entire career. He did however, manage to add a new twist to his classic jam.

Dam Funk sung the hook through a vocoder, which altered his voice while he sang, "Rollin' down the street, smokin' indo, sippin' on gin and juice."

Perhaps the remix will serve as a precursor of what's to come when the duo drop their 7 Days of Funk album next month.
